About ehr-ctrl

openEHR gives healthcare organizations a standards-based way to store clinical data for the long term, exposed through the openEHR REST API — but working with that API day-to-day usually means curl, Postman, or custom scripts just to answer basic questions about your own data.

ehr-ctrl was built to close that gap: a desktop app that gives every EHR, EHR_STATUS,COMPOSITION, TEMPLATE, and STORED_QUERY endpoint a proper interface, so querying and administering your CDR doesn't require hand-writing HTTP requests.

Our approach

• Built for openEHR, tested on EHRbase. ehr-ctrl targets the openEHR REST API itself, so the goal is to work against any compliant CDR. So far it's been built and tested against EHRbase specifically, since it's free and open source and anyone can spin one up to try ehr-ctrl against — broader CDR support follows as we validate against them.
• Your data stays yours. ehr-ctrl is a desktop app. It runs on your machine and connects directly to your own openEHR CDR — a local Docker or hosted EHRbase instance today — and nothing about your clinical data is sent to us.
• Built for operators, not just developers. The tool is designed to be usable by the people who run a CDR day-to-day, not only the engineers who built the integration.
